The story behind the name — and why Aaron's House exists.
His Story
Blake Bartleson was more than a childhood friend — he was like a brother. We grew up together, made mistakes together, and shared a bond that ran deeper than the troubled life we were living.
The last time he came to my door, I knew he was there. But I didn't let him in. I was in active addiction, caught in my own selfishness, and unable to offer him the safe place he may have needed.
Shortly afterward, Blake was gone. And I've carried that moment with me ever since.
I cannot change what happened, and I know now that I could not have fixed or saved him. But I can help make sure others don't face that same silence.
